This plant grows into a small spiny shrub and produces clusters of red edible berries. Fruits taste similar to sour cherries. Makes a good trap crop for various pests, very hardy, has good drought and disease tolerance. 

Sow Su-Au warm areas, Sp-Au cooler areas Prefers a sunny position, sow 2-5mm, germinates 14 days at 25 degrees c, prick out and transplant into pots when young.
