This is an unusual but useful culinary plant which produces tender green leaves up to 40cm across. It thrives in the same conditions as lettuce and is very rich in calcium, vit A and phosphorous. For best flavour plants should be blanched by covering. This variety is winter hardy and can even withstand frosts.

Sowing time - All year, best in cooler times

Prefer sunny position, sow 10mm deep, emerge 6-10days

Harvest in approx 90 days after sowing
