ANGLED LUFFA

This is a fast growing vine best suited to tropical and subtropical climates. Many parts of the plant can be used - the young stems, leaves and flower buds can be used as greens, the seeds can be roasted and eaten and the young fruit can be used like zucchini. When mature the fruit are an unusual angled gourd like structure, hence the name.

Plant in early spring in cool climates, Spring to early autumn in sub and tropical zones. Germinates at 22-25 degrees C soil temp., germination may be erratic, scarify seed and soak overnight before sowing, in clumps of 2-3 seeds, 20mm deep, leaving 100cm between seedlings, will emerge in 10-25 days
