Heirloom eggplant from the 1850’s, it produces dark purple elongated fruit around 25cm long and 5cm in diameter. Tender mild flavoured flesh with very few seeds and thin skin.

Sow in Sp-Au in hot areas, Sp-Su cooler zones.

Sow 5mm directly in final position or in pots, sow 23-28 degrees, keep moist but not wet, seedlings emerge 10-14 days, space 60-75cm
