This unusual plant is native to Australia and New Zealand and is extremely hardy, tolerating drought and frost. It makes an excellent as a substitute for spinach in hot climates but also grows well in cooler zones and can be steamed and eaten in the same way as spinach. Its trailing habit makes it an excellent ground cover as well. Very few pests will bother it. Sowing time - Sp-Su Prefer sunny position, seeds have thick seed coat and will need to be soaked overnight before sowing, sow 12mm deep, emerge 7-20days Harvest in approx 8-10 weeks after sowing
