This variety has higher foliage mass, oil content and a bushy habit compared to regular summer savory. Summer savory is an unusual herb which can be used in a similar way to sage or thyme. It is said to have a sweet flavour and a delicate aroma. It can be used in most cooked dishes and also fresh in salads but also has purported medicinal uses - rubbing a sprig onto a wasp or bee sting is said to give instant relief. It also produces pale purple little flowers which are a delightful garden feature.
