Squash - Spaghetti squash

This unusual squash variety produces medium sized oblong fruits which, when cooked have a stringy flesh like spaghetti. It can be used in all sorts of meals from pasta through to stews and whilst it does still tastes like a squash it can be used as a spaghetti substitute for a healthier option. Plant in Spring and Summer, in clumps of 2-3 seeds, 20mm deep, leaving 100cm between seedlings, will emerge in 6-10 days Only harvest once the fruits are a dark yellow. TO PREPARE - cut in half and remove seeds, place foil over the fruit and bake in oven for 20-40mins until soft. Once cooked, simply scoop out the stringy insides with a fork and add to meal.
