Chilli - Serrano
30 seeds
This is variety produces fruits that are 7-15cm, with smooth skin and a blunted end. Fruits turn from green to red. Plants have slightly hairy leaves and seem to withstand the cold better than most of the chillis we've grown. The plants are erect and branching, growing 60-70cm tall. This is a mild to hot variety with a heat level 8000-20,000 scoville units.
Sow Spring and Summer
Sow 5mm directly in final position or in seed boxes, seedlings emerge 10-14 days, must have adequate temperature to germinate, sow 25-30 degrees and keep moist but not too wet as seeds may rot, space 50cm apart.
Harvest any time when fruits are of a suitable size
