Anise Hyssop
Agastache foeniculum
Approx. 250-500 seeds
This is a great ornamental and edible herb, native to parts of North America. Its leaves have a strong anise flavour, making it a great substitute for anise. The large blue flowers are highly bee attracting and great for biodiversity.
Perennial growing to approx 1m, very low maintenance, attracts bees. Can start re-seeding in the garden but not overly weedy.
Sow in Spring indoors by surface sowing the tiny seeds on a moistened seed raising tray. Keep moist at all times and under 15-24 degrees C. Germinates within 3 months. Germination improved by cold scarification.
Prefers a sunny position
Harvest leaves throughout the year as required
